Scripture Reading - James 3:1-10
Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue : and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
It would do us good sometimes if all our spoken words during a day were recorded. I wonder what we would think when we replayed the recording? Our words create the world we live in. They can be positive with a very optimistic outlook, or they can be negative and really reveal our perspective. In James 3:2 we are told that if a man is able to control his words, (speak life giving words from the Word of God), then he will have control of his body. By the same token, if a man's words are vile, destructive, and full of worldly thoughts, he will not have control of his body. It is very important that as a Christian our talk and our walk match. The tongue is very hard to control. It is very powerful. The tongue is a great indicator and a lot of times a precursor to what lies ahead in our walk with God. It will be the first thing that goes astray. Take a moment, consider what is coming out of your mouth. Catch yourself before a possible fall. May God Bless You Today and Live in the NOW.
